Ah, the dreaded “holiday weight.”  This year, why not be proactive and eat better during the holidays instead of bingeing until your New Year’s Resolutions kick in?  The best part is, there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy your favorite holiday indulgences while making smarter choices.  Incorporating canned foods that are already in your pantry into these lighter versions of your favorite holiday dishes will satisfy your taste buds and be kind to your waistline.

A study by University of California-Davis concluded that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables – canned, fresh and frozen – is desirable.  Neglecting one form over another ignores the nutritional value that each provides.  So add some canned ingredients to your holiday table and finish the year with a diet you can feel good about.
