Most of us know that the one thing that is always in short supply is time. To help you save some precious minutes in the midst of the hustle and bustle, Mealtime offers the following "reci-tips" for entertaining. Prepare these easy recipes in minutes and watch the crowd go wild with excitement.

  • Simple Salmon Horseradish Mousse: In a food processor, mix drained, canned salmon with an equal amount of soft cream cheese and a little sour cream, horseradish and dill. Serve with crackers or French bread slices.

  • Hummus: For an easy, low-fat dip, make your own hummus. Drain, rinse and purée a can of chickpeas in a food processor with three tablespoons each of olive oil and fresh lemon juice. Add crushed garlic to taste. Serve with fresh vegetables or bite-sized slices of pita bread.

  • Presto Pesto: Whip up a quick pesto sauce by coarsely puréeing drained, canned spinach in a food processor, along with garlic, walnuts or almonds and a drizzle of olive oil. Toss with hot pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  • Popular Pear Helene: Place canned pear halves over scoops of ice cream on fancy dessert plates and drizzle chocolate sauce over them.
