Recent research from Rutgers University shows that many people lack knowledge of basic kitchen know-how, but they do make positive changes when they receive guidance. So in the last issue of Today's Table, the Canned Food Alliance introduced At-Home Economics – a call for a renewed focus on kitchen basics. The CFA also shared resources based on the Rutgers research findings, like the Essential Kitchen Toolkit and At-Home Economics Position Paper.

Now the CFA continues to build on the research and offer practical applications to practice At-Home Economics with several extension programs. First is a virtual "Field to Table" tour featuring an expert panel discussion about canned fruits and vegetables at a time when affordable, nutritious food options are more important than ever – and you're invited. The CFA is also sharing a creative way to apply the basics of meal preparation to create easy, inventive meals at home at low costs. Intrigued?
