Classic Blueberry Sauce
This blueberry sauce is the perfect topping for your breakfast favorites. Just add it to waffles, pancakes or French toast for a new twist on your old favorite!

Ingredients
- 1 can (14 to 15 ounces) blueberries in light syrup*
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch * If you use canned blueberries in water or natural juices,
- add 2 tablespoons sugar.
- Before boiling, add ½ to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Before boiling add 2 teaspoons freshly ground ginger.
- After cooking, mix in 1 tablespoon chopped, fresh mint.
- After cooking, mix in 1 tablespoon chopped, fresh basil or rosemary, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
- After cooking, mix in 1 tablespoon fresh lavender buds and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Instructions
- In a small saucepan combine blueberries, lemon juice, sugar, and cornstarch.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil for l minute until mixture is thickened.
- Serve warm or cold.
